New appointments at the FIN-FSA
The new organisation of the FIN-FSA took effect on 1 September 2017. The new organisation consists of four departments: Insurance Supervision, Banking Supervision, Supervision of Markets and Conduct of Business and Financial Analysis and Operational Risks as well as Director General’s Staff. In addition to Kaisa Forsström, who has previously been appointed Head of Insurance Supervision, the heads of two new departments and two new divisions have been chosen with application processes within the organisation. The appointments are for a five-year term.

Jyri Helenius, M.Sc. (Tech.), has been appointed Head of Banking Supervision. He has previously headed the FIN-FSA’s Prudential Supervision Department. In addition, Helenius acts as Deputy Director General.
Samu Kurri, Master of Social Sciences, has been appointed Head of Financial Analysis and Operational Risks. He has previously headed the FIN-FSA's Institutional Supervision Department.
Marko Myller, Master of Social Sciences, has been appointed Head of the Off-Site Supervision Division. The division is part of the Banking Supervision Department. Myller has previously headed the FIN-FSA’s Financial Sector Division.
Sami Pyykkönen, Master of Social Sciences, has been appointed Head of the On-Site Supervision and Regulation Division. The division is part of the Banking Supervision Department. Myller has previously headed the FIN-FSA’s Market and Liquidity Risks Division. He has also been acting Head of the Credit Risks Division.
