Slides and video of ESEF-webinar for listed companies on 24th September available

XBRL Finland and Financial Supervisory Authority arranged a webinar regarding the forthcoming electronic financial reporting (ESEF, European Single Electronic Format) on 24th of September 2020. The webinar attracted almost 300 participants. Take a look at the slides and the video (in Finnish only) including the interesting presentations and the informative panel discussion by five ESEF-preparers regarding practical implementation.

European listed companies will soon have to publish their annual financial reports in electronic xHTML format instead of previous PDF format. The XBRL tags included in xHTML documents will make financial statements structured. xHTML is both human-readable and machine-readable at the same time. New technologies can be used more effectively in data analysis when reporting in structured format. According to the current schedule, ESEF reporting will begin in stages, starting with the annual financial report of 2020.
