Amendment to EBA Guidelines on specification and disclosure of systemic importance indicators – application begins on 20 May 2024
The European Banking Authority (EBA) has issued Guidelines EBA/GL/2023/10 amending Guidelines EBA/GL/2020/14 on the specification and disclosure of systemic importance indicators. These Guidelines replace and repeal previous, amended EBA Guidelines EBA/GL/2022/12.
In accordance with Article 16(3) of the EBA Regulation1, financial institutions/competent authorities must make every effort to comply with EBA guidelines. The Financial Supervisory Authority has stated it will comply with the Guidelines.

The Guidelines concern the specification of indicators used to determine global systemically important institutions (G-SIIs) referred to in Regulation (EU) No 1222/2014, the reporting of the underlying data (indicators, ancillary data and memorandum items) and the annual public disclosure of the indicator values based on them used in the identification of G-SIIs. The Guidelines apply to credit institutions with total leverage ratio exposures in excess of EUR 200 billion.
Entry into force
The Guidelines apply as of 20 May 2024.
