Reporting release 2 May 2023 – 17/2023

ECB has published new EGDQ checks | EBA

The European Central Bank (ECB) has published new extra data quality checks (EGDQ) on its website. The extra checks are based on Article 4(1) of Decision ECB/2014/29, according to which the ECB shall develop additional checks for quality control in cooperation with national competent authorities in the EGDQ working group (Expert Group on Data Quality).

The EGDQ checks are now applicable and will have an impact on reporting by credit institutions. The EGDQ checks complement the validation rules published by the European Banking Authority (EBA) and will improve the quality of data used by supervisory authorities.

EGDQ checks have been published on the ECB’s banking supervision website since 2018.
