Armi Taipale to head Capital Markets Supervision at the FIN-FSA
Armi Taipale, LLM, MSc (Econ), has been appointed Head of Department, Capital Markets Supervision at the FIN-FSA for a five-year term, commencing 1 August 2019. The Head of Department is a member of the FIN-FSA’s management group and reports directly to the Director General.
Ms Taipale will transfer to her new post as Head of Department from the Ministry of Finance where she most recently served as Director, Legislative Affairs and Head of the Capital Markets and Infrastructure unit.
− I am looking forward to working with the widely recognised experts of the FIN-FSA. The EU has actively sought to develop the capital markets in recent years. There is still work to be done, however, and this is also reflected in various ways in market supervision, says Taipale.
Capital Markets Supervision is responsible for supervising the actors, products and services on the capital markets, including the supervision of investor information and trading. The department also cooperates widely with domestic and international authorities and participates in the preparation of domestic and EU legislation.
